Why Does This Keep Happening? 8/15/16

As soon as I am soaring high and lovin life... the work gets worse. 😒

We struggled hardcore this week in numbers. I know I know. "It isn't all about the numbers" whatever. Numbers matter okay. We taught 1 other lesson. 1!
Numbers for this week:

B: 0
C:0
Date: 1
Sac: 0
Prog: 0
New: 1
MP lesson: 2
Other: 1
LA/RC: 9
AM: 6
Ref. Rec.:2
Ref. Con.: 1
BOM: 1
Tract: 1 hr
Service: 8

Yep. We are bomb. This area is SO awesome and EVERYONE wants to listen. EVERYONE... Not. 😒

BUT alas... we are pushing through and doing our best not to go insane. Tryin. Not sure how well it's working, but hey. What can ya do?

We have tried almost everyone we can think of. Knocked on doors. Walked up doors only to have them look us in the face and slam the door. I am learning all sorts of stuff about how people truly can be. They are crazy. To give you an idea of how rough it has been, here is a funny story. We were tracting on Saturday. Lots of closed doors, blinds hurriedly shut, and drapes drawn. Then one blessed door opened and a nice woman named Kristi opened. We did the usual door approach that varies along the lines of "We are sharing an exciting message about how families can be together forever. Is that something y'all would be interested in?" We expected the usual "No. I already have Jesus." Instead Kristi said, "Yeah. Sure. Y'all want to come in?" Sister Steadman started to say "Okay. You have a blessed day ma'am" Then we both looked at each other and said "oh my. Yes we would love to come in!"
We discussed what our message is about and how it can bless families. She said she and her husband had been wanting to go back to church, but didn't know if they wanted to back to their Baptist church. Which I might mention is RIGHT next to our church. Just sayin. It's the same distance, and brings you ETERNAL happiness! 😉😬 She has to wait until her husband gets back from off shore before she will make a decision. SO... we wait. With fingers crossed and prayers in our hearts. 🙏

The service at the Barkin Basement is paying off. Miss Gail, my favorite person, who knows a little about our church, is now our best friend! She was worried when we told her one or both of us might be leaving tomorrow. We let her know when we found out this morning that we were both staying. She said to celebrate she was going to take us out to lunch. So we met her at a Italian buffet in town and had a wonderful lunch. Then she wanted to spend more time with us because "we have a wonderful happiness and light about us." So of course we had to help her shop for groceries. SO FUN! She is a wonderful woman! We will continue to do service with her and little by little talk more and more about the gospel!

Other than that, there isn't much going on around here. Just the regular missionary work stuff. 😬 Puttin in the WERK!

Yep. Well y'all have a wonderful week! LOVE YOU!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘🐿
