Investigators. Who Needs 'Um? 5/22/2017

So... This week has been a struggle, as you can see from the subject line. Yep.
Lots of knocking on doors, walking around, praying, and trust in God's plan for this area.
But on the bright side, it gives me the opportunity to go through some last refining fires to be THAT much better when I head home in 59 days. (but who is counting 😏😉)
We had a fabulous Zone Conference this Friday. I swear it was geared toward me and what I was feeling! No jokes. Here is a abridged play by play:

>President Olson opens with a fire comment about how hot it is finna be. "I will call the days of the summer you will go through 'come come ye saints days.' The first words of the fourth verse will be very applicable." (And should we die before our journeys through, happy day all is well) 😂
Poor Elder Nichols and Pedersen just looked really nervous and chuckled! (Elder Nichols is the one from Kaysville whose name I couldn't remember during skype)

>Brief discussion about having the fifth point on the compass (us) pointing as close to north and getting closer

>President lays down the law with the new rule of no co ed sporting events due to the high level of sister injuries while playing handball with the elders. His words, "I know they look tough, and many are even more so than some of the elders, but no more playing with them. They are fragile too."

>Discussion of how we find honest searchers of truth
Alma 32:27-29: having the faith to trust God is putting people in your path
(attached document is a chart he drew that i recreated)
"We don't take credit or blame when the last half of the process takes place. We have agency to offer, the investigator has the agency to say no. It is in God's Hands after we don't cast the seed out."

>Fire discussion about how the Bible testifies of the Book of Mormon.
-John 10:16
-Ezekiel 37:15-17
(analogy of an arrow nailed to the wall-spins around=millions of churches/interpretations. Put another nail in it (book of mormon) and it has one church/interpretation)
-Isaiah 11:1, 10-12
-Genesis 49:22
-John 20:31
-Psalms 85:11
-Isaiah 29

>Video made by a member about the apostles after Christ was resurrected and ascended, put with Elder Holland's talk "The First Great Commandment"
"Do you love me more than all of this?"
"I need disciples and I need them forever. I need someone to preach my gospel, to feed my lambs, to change the world."
"Did you think you could go back to whatever you were before? Did not my life and ministry mean more to you than that?"
(Made me think of how I want to be when I get home, and not going right back to everything I was doing. Reevaluating good, better, best)
And a thought: "This is for Him. Not you. How hard are you willing to work for Him?"

> Final Testimonies
The realization that I will be up there next zone conference. 😯

Zone Conference was awesome.
It has also been raining a lot this week. Which is fun I suppose. I like being soaked...?
Here is how the days go.
Rain>>Heat/Humidity>>Rain>>Heat/Humidity and repeat and repeat.
The humidity is especially high because of the rain and the moisture in the air from it. So that makes it even more fun!!

I have started The Book of Mormon for the sixth time on my mission. I plan to read it this time and one more time before I head home. 18 pages a day! Lovin it!

Don't think I'm givin up just 'cause it's gettin hard. It is only making me want to kick that much harder.
There is a quote from a talk I love. It from a champion swimmer when he was asked how he got to be so good. His response, "I kick when I don't want to kick. I stroke when I don't want to stroke."

There will be a lot of kicking and stroking goin on here in Brownlee LA. Even when I don't especially want to.

Thought this was the town hall. Nope. Just a outrageously large church.
Congrats Ryno. 😉😂😘 From me and grumpy cat
How I feel about all the humidity
